This year, Bentley Motors celebrates 60 years of production at its famous Crewe factory. Today, Crewe is a flourishing state of the art site mixing the latest technology with time-honoured craftsmanship and tradition. Bentley’s most popular models are the Continental GT & Continental Flying Spur. No Bentley models have either been as successful or enjoyed such international appeal as these two cars. The first ever Crewe-built Bentley – the Mark VI - appeared in 1946 – as Crewe production shifted from Merlin aero engines to luxury cars. The Mark VI was then the best selling car ever to wear a Bentley badge. More than 5,000 were sold in five years – almost as many Bentleys as were made in the entire 20 year pre-war period. Today, though the original buildings of the Crewe factory have been preserved, inside the clean, modern, light environment is virtually unrecognisable from the 1946 plant. Bentley currently employs a 3,900 strong workforce, an increase of around 70% since 1998. The modern factory features some of the highest technology seen in the motor industry. .ads a:link {color: #0000ff;} .ads a:visited {color: #0000ff;}
